Goodwill Industries of Denver Hires Jesse Wolff as CEO

Goodwill Industries of Denver is proud to announce the appointment of Jesse Wolff as its new CEO. Goodwill’s board of directors has recently completed a three month search for the new CEO after the retirement of Tim Welker in March, who dedicated more than 37 years of service to the organization.

Wolff has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently as President and CEO of the Kempe Foundation. Prior to his time with Kempe, he was the CEO of Community Shares of Colorado after spending fifteen years in investment portfolio management and corporate finance.

“The Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome someone of Jesse Wolff’s caliber to Goodwill Industries of Denver,” said Todd Munson, Chairman of the Board. “His leadership with the Kempe Foundation and high-level of respect in the community render him extremely well-suited for the position. After a long and thoughtful search, we believe he is the perfect individual to carry out Goodwill's mission.”

As CEO, Wolff will lead Goodwill’s mission of reversing the cycle of poverty by providing work opportunities for individuals with disabilities, struggling families, and at-risk youth. He will also oversee continued retail expansion into new markets in the metro Denver area, which helps fund Goodwill’s community programs.

“I am honored to have been chosen to lead this venerable organization with its 90-year history of serving our community.” said Jesse Wolff. “It is a privilege to carry forward the 37-year legacy of Tim Welker and I look forward to helping build Goodwill’s community impact on the incredible foundation that has already been established”

Mr. Wolff has a distinguished record of nonprofit and community service work, has written extensively on the nonprofit sector, and has participated on numerous boards and commissions that serve the public interest, including the Colorado Children’s Trust Fund, The Denver Mayor’s Commission for the Office of Strategic Partnerships and Social Venture Partners (SVP) Denver. He was selected as a 2008 Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Livingston Fellow, was a finalist for the 2006 9News Leader of the Year award, and was named as a Metro Denver’s Top Business Newsmaker in the 2006 Denver Business Journal’s Power Book. Wolff will join Goodwill as CEO beginning August 2, 2010.
